Simpsons Raises Over £2,000 For Amber Philpott Trust

In Memory of Amber Rose Phillpott

Amber Rose Phillpott was born a healthy and happy baby on 5th September 2009. In October 2010 she suffered a minor stroke and was admitted to the John Radcliffe children’s hospital. Here Amber was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) and underwent intensive chemotherapy treatment. Initially Amber responded well, but sadly her condition worsened over time and she lost her battle in February 2011. Amber was just 18 months old.

Amber Phillpott Trust

The Amber Phillpott Trust has been set up in Amber’s memory and with the initiative to raise as much money as possible to donate to front line AML research.

Pub Quiz 2017

Stewart Simpson, with support from friends and colleagues, set up a pub quiz to raise awareness and money for The Amber Phillpott Trust. After raising over £1,200 in 2016, this year under the umbrella of his new business, Simpsons Property Abingdon, Stewart went about organising a re-run.

Hosted at the hugely popular The Crown & Thistle, the event pulled in a 200 strong crowd, with 20 tables booked to participate in the quiz organised by Adam Dewar. Congratulations to Matt Parker's winning team

With ticket and raffle sales alone Simpsons succeeded in raising well over £2,000 on the night, nearly doubling the total raised in the previous year!

Another reason why we #LoveAbingdon

As a business we’ve been overwhelmed with the support we received not only from friends and family but from Abingdon’s local businesses who kindly donated prizes for the event.

Special thanks to Royds Withy King, The Crown & Thistle, Orange Frog Mortgages, Miele, Swinford Beauty Barn, Oxford United, Essence of Beauty, Loose Cannon Brewery, Fabulous Flowers, Added Ingredients, Firstxtra Mortgages, Gemini Hair and The Beauty Hamper
